Members of the IMI research team, Branko Petrinec and Marina Serenčeš, participated in the 14th International Symposium Kopački rit: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow 2025, held on 25 and 26 September 2025 at the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences in Osijek. They presented two project topics in the field of radioecology in poster sessions: “Transfer Factors of ¹³⁷Cs and ⁴⁰K from Soil to Plants in Croatia – Legislative Gaps” and “Radiological characterization of waste sheep wool for innovative solutions in hydroponic systems.” The research highlighted the need to monitor radionuclides across various agricultural systems. Also, they confirmed that waste sheep wool in Croatia can be used in agriculture from a radiological standpoint.

The symposium serves as a platform for promoting an interdisciplinary approach to nature conservation, sustainable development, and the protection of natural and cultural heritage. More details can be found in Book of Abstracts.
