The 7th International Congress of the Croatian Society of Toxicology – CROTOX 2025 was held on Rab from October 5 to 8, 2025. In the section dedicated to the monitoring of emerging contaminants, a member of the IMI research team, Sanja Stipičević, presented the research topic title „Safety assessment of the agricultural use of sewage sludge from a large Croatian wastewater treatment plant“. The results indicated that properly treated sewage sludge meets the current quality standards and can be a valuable resource for agriculture, providing nutrients beneficial to crops. However, stringent regulatory requirements still limit its agricultural reuse. More details can be found in Abstracts of the 7th CROTOX meeting.
