The 7th European Congress of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA 2026), titled “Encouraging Collaboration in Radiation Protection,” was held in Liverpool from 1 to 5 June 2026. The congress brought together more than 1,100 participants from 45 countries, making it Europe’s largest radiation protection event and one of the largest of its kind worldwide.
As part of the congress, Dr. Branko Petrinec presented the poster “Radiological Characterization of Wood Ash from Croatian Biomass Power Plants” focusing on the radiological characterization of wood ash from Croatian biomass power plants. The results contribute to assessing radiological safety for the potential reuse of ash and to better understanding the radiological aspects of the sustainable use of biomass and its by-products.
