A round table dedicated to the Local Circular Agriculture Model was held on 27 April in Otočac, as part of the final stage of the Was2Grow project, led by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb. The event confirmed the importance of a systematic approach to sustainable development through the connection of science, public policy and entrepreneurship.
Following the opening remarks, the project “Transforming Biowaste into Innovative Hydroponic Solutions – Was2Grow” was presented by Professor Gabrijel Ondrašek. On this occasion, the key objectives of the project were highlighted, focusing on the transformation of biowaste into high-value inputs for agricultural production.
Special emphasis was placed on the development of innovative hydroponic solutions, the application of circular bioeconomy principles, and the concrete project results showing how waste resources can be effectively reintegrated into production processes. This reduces negative environmental impact and increases the sustainability of agriculture.
